Dr. Shawn Sanicola is a Wisconsin native who was born and raised in Milwaukee. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, he went on to receive his degree in Podiatric Medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Upon graduation, he completed a three-year surgical residency program at the Denver Veterans Administration Hospital and the United States Air Force Academy. Dr. Sanicola has extensive training and experience in limb salvage surgery and sports medicine. Being a former college athlete and a foot and ankle doctor for the USAFA he understands the mindset of the athlete and focuses on returning the patient to full activity as efficiently as possible. Dr. Sanicola continues to be active in research and brings cutting edge knowledge and technology directly to his patients to maximize their care. He prides himself on compassionate care and believes in tailoring treatment to each individual patient need. Dr. Sanicola is Board Qualified in both forefoot and rearfoot/ankle reconstructive surgery.
